Psalms 74:2-8

2 Remember Your congregation, which You have ^apurchased of old,
Which You have ^bredeemed to be the ^ctribe of Your inheritance;
And this Mount ^dZion, where You have dwelt.
3 ^{▼▼ Lit Lift up}Turn Your footsteps toward the ^fperpetual ruins;
The enemy ^ghas damaged everything within the sanctuary.
4 Your adversaries have ^hroared in the midst of Your meeting place;
They have set up their ⁱown ^{▼▼ Lit signs}standards ^kfor signs.
5 It seems as if one had lifted up
His ^{▼▼ Lit axes
,} ^maxe in a ^{▼▼ Lit thicket}forest of trees.
6 And now ^{▼▼ Lit altogether}all its ^pcarved work
They smash with hatchet and ^{▼▼ Or axes}hammers.
7 They have ^{▼▼ Lit set on fire
,} ^sburned Your sanctuary ^{▼▼ Or To the ground they...}to the ground;
They have ^udefiled the dwelling place of Your name.
8 They ^vsaid in their heart, “Let us ^{▼▼ Lit altogether}completely ^{▼▼ Or oppress}subdue them.”
They have burned all the meeting places of God in the land.
